Many of you have asked why my election is showing up as a 2028 election on the SOE website.  The current incumbent for County Commission District 3 is Mayra Uribe, who has filed to run for Orange County Mayor in the 2026 election. By law, she has until roughly the end of May 2026 to “resign to run” in the mayoral election, although she may choose to submit her resignation to run sooner.  If she decides to resign to run, which I believe will eventually happen, the District 3 election will move to the 2026 ballot, and that’s why I have filed to run now. If for some reason, Commissioner Uribe decides to remain in her seat, my campaign will pause until it is time to run in 2028.  I appreciate everyone’s support for my candidacy, and I look forward to meeting all the residents of District 3 in the coming months.
